Acceptance - Enjoyment - Enthusiasm

I would like to share the following inserts from Eckhart Tolle's - A New Earth;

For me personally they have been clear signposts on a Murky Road..............

"None of us have a perfect life. Challenges affect us all but it is what we do with those challenges that determine the quality and the Joy in the life that we lead".

Awakened Doing:  Acceptance, Enjoyment and Enthusiasm.

“Each one represents a certain vibrational frequency of consciousness.
You need to be vigilant to make sure that one of them operates whenever you are engaged in doing anything at all—from the most simple task to the most complex. If you are not in the state of either acceptance, enjoyment, or enthusiasm, look closely and you will find that you are creating suffering for yourself and others” (p. 295).

Eckhart Tolle A New Earth:   Acceptance

“Whatever you cannot enjoy doing, you can at least accept that this is what you have to do.  Acceptance means: For now, this is what this situation, this moment, requires me to do, and so I do it willingly. ... Performing an action in the state of acceptance means you are at peace while you do it. ... If you can neither enjoy nor bring acceptance to what you do—stop. Otherwise, you are not taking responsibility for the only thing you can really take responsibility for, which also happens to be one thing that really matters: your state of consciousness” (p. 296).

Acceptance: We all have things in our lives that we would rather not deal with; traffic jams, tedious chores, difficult people. But we have a choice. What is… is. We can bitch and moan and complain and carry on either mentally or even physically but that just disperses and wastes our precious energy.

Accept what is- do what you can (as quickly as possible is just fine) and move on.
Don’t waste your precious resources and energies by mentally and emotionally fighting reality.

When you fight against reality you lose…. 100% of the time.

Eckhart Tolle A New Earth:   Enjoyment

“When you make the present moment, instead of past and future, the focal point of your life,
your ability to enjoy what you do-and with it the quality of your life- increases dramatically”

Enjoyment. When you can actually enjoy what you are doing you bring a sense of aliveness to yourself and to the world. Be present with what you do. Life and living is not in the end result or designated at a future time but life and living is in the journey. Now.

The counsel of Zen reminds us to be one with what we do. When we sweep the floor, we need to be sweeping the floor, moving the broom and gathering the dust and not caught up in next weeks challenges or the turmoil from 10 years ago. Now is the only time you can live your life.
Be one with Now.

Eckhart Tolle A New Earth:   Enthusiasm

“Sustained enthusiasm brings into existence a wave of creative energy,
And all you have to do is “ride the wave”. ”

The last level of awakened doing is Enthusiasm...this is when not only do you accept and enjoy what you are doing...but you bring a new level of inspired energy to the doing.
When you add in an inspired vision or goal along with excitement your creativity soars.
There is deep enjoyment and an enormous intensity and energy behind what you do.
Enthusiasm takes over and you resonate with the creative power of the Universe.
